Selection criteria for the program:

- participants must report for a local media from Bacău, Botoşani, Braşov, Cluj, Constanţa, Galaţi, Hunedoara, Neamţ, Sibiu, Suceava counties
- participants must have at least two years of professional experience
- proven interest in EU integration related topics (at least 3 published/broadcasted journalistic materials on such topics)
- fluency in English and permanent access to the Internet
- prior knowledge about EU issues (demonstrated by training graduation diplomas, other types of relevant certificates) is an asset.

60 journalists will be selected within this program. The participants will be assisted by the project team in their documentation work and encouraged to report on EU integration topics in their respective media. Communication among them, experts, and journalists from EU member states will be facilitated throughout the project implementation.

Upon successful completion of the program (attendance of the seminar and videoconferences, participation within electronic discussion forums and groups, publication/broadcasting of at least 6 relevant journalistic materials etc.), the project team will select some of the participants for a study trip in Brussels, to the main institutions of the European Commission. The selection of the participants to the study trip will be made by an independent panel of experts – the Consultative Committee of the project.

Applications should be submitted by January 11, 2005 (new deadline). The decision about admission to the program will be made by eRomania Gateway Association in cooperation with the Consultative Committee of the project. Please note that successful applicants will be required to fill in and submit a form signed by themselves and by their employers committing to fully attend the program.
